The figure modelled by Guiseppe Gricci, in mob cap, jacket, shirt, pantaloons, stockings and shoes, a small satchel hanging from a belt at his waist and holding an oval basket of books, with two blank prints hanging from the front edge, supported on a rockwork pillar to his left and standing on a shaped rockwork base.
See:- Angela Carola-Perrotti, op. cit. (1986) Chapter 11.4 for discussion on series of figures “Le Voci di Napoli”.
This rare example is not recorded. It would appear to belong to this series. The figures were modelled by Guiseppe Gricci inspired by engravings by Annibale Carracci.
