An extremely rare and highly important Meissen bullet shaped teapot & cover moddelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Applied on one side with Rococco scroll moulded handle enriched with gilding and applied Frauenkopff thumb rest. The moulded silver shaped spout with gentleman’s mask terminal.
Beautifully painted with a continuous courtly scene of lovers beside a river landscape with trees and mountains within the scene. Birds in flight through coloured clouds beneath a border of ozier moulding. The rare tea and coffee service formally in the Grossherzoge Von Baden Collection. Sold by Sotheby’s on 7th October 1995, Lot 1296.
