An extremely rare and important Longton Hall Loving Cup, of bucket shape, gently flared at the rim and supported on a turned base, the twin scrolled handles with rising thumb pieces, painted in the famille rose palette on one side with a chinaman holding a blue flower pointing to a small boy who holds a parrot, with several more to one side. The other side with a chinaman holding a vase aloft with two Chinese boys on either side. The rim painted with hatched green diaper alternating with red peonies, the interior with a full spray of oriental flowers.

 

The only recorded example of its type.
