The red beaked parrot is painted in vibrant tones of yellow around the head and neck, green body with blue and red wing feathers, and red tail feathers. Along the tree stump are red and blue flowers with red berries and green painted sprigs of leaves. Its companion is painted green with red wing feathers and yellow tail. A cluster of toadstools and sprigs of leaves decorate the tree stump.
The design of these parrots was modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, where they are mentioned in his work records from October 1741.
