An early Worcester pleat moulded Bowl, Circa 1755-57
An early Worcester pleat moulded Bowl, moulded in crisp low relief with scrolled panels enclosing Chinese riverscenes painted in underglaze blue, the front and reverse panels with a fisherman beside a pagoda, the interior with a pagoda and willow tree beneath a border of oriental foliage.
B.F.S. I.B.21 ‘The Fisherman and Willow Pavilion’. This delightfully thinly potted bowl shows two of the three landscapes that comprise this pattern and although the pattern was in use until 1760 the greyish tone of the paste is more characteristic with wares of the 1755-57 period.

Diameter: 6 ins. (15 cms)
