An extremely rare Chelsea Fluted Circular Dish, Circa: 1752
An extremely rare Chelsea Fluted Circular Dish of small size, beautifully painted with scattered and naturalistic sprays of European flowers, included roses, martigan lilies, hairbells and clover, within a brown line rim.
Marks: Red anchor mark and numeral 12 to the underside.
The paste on inspection contains a large number of 'Moons' and therefore, when reflecting on the weight and tactile character of the paste together with its opacity, the paste must be considered to be of the raised anchor period.
