A Rare Bow Botanical Plate, Circa 1760
A Rare Bow Botanical Plate of octagonal shape with brown dressed rim. The centre is vibrantly painted with a yellow petalled flower amidst puce coloured stem and veined leaves of variegated green and yellow colour. Scattered sprigs are painted along the rim, along with two insects and a brightly patterned butterfly.

Modelled after Chelsea ‘Hans Sloane’ dishes, the painting of Bow botanicals demonstrate more artistic expression rather than botanical accuracy.
